Irwan
Born and raised in Amsterdam, for over a decade Irwan has been one of the best hiphop/ open-format dj’s in Europe. With his unique style of scratching, singing and smoothly mixing up hiphop, r&b, trap, EDM and everything in between, Irwan established himself as a crowd favorite and makes him the go-to guy for clubs and promoters when it comes to big urban events around the globe.
Irwan played at private parties for artists like Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson, opened up concerts for Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Ne-Yo, Rita Ora, Sean Paul, Da Baby, Lil Baby and Flo Rida to name just a few, and is a regular guest at big festivals such as Dance Valley, 7th Sunday Festival and Mysteryland. In 2017 he made his debut at some of Asia’s most prestigious music festivals: Ultra Japan and It’s The Ship.
During the pandemic Irwan continued to showcase himself thru livestreams and became one of the few dj’s in the Netherlands with Twitch Partner status. In August 2021 Irwan competed in the online Triller Resident DJ Competition and was chosen by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz as one of the 16 finalists to compete live during VerzuzTV events. (update July 2024: the Triller DJ Competition is currently ongoing)
As the world slowly got back to normal early 2022, the demand for Irwan’s good-vibe-performance skyrocketed which resulted in a season with over 60 festival gigs. Among these is another highlight in Irwan’s career: his debut at Tomorrowland.
As recognition of his achievements, Irwan has been nominated multiple times for MOBO Awards, FunX Awards and Dutch Urban Awards in the category Best Urban DJ. Besides that, Irwan was among a small selection of dj’s chosen by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to contribute to their inflight entertainment programme on all long-haul flights.
The signs are clear: sky is definitely not the limit for Irwan!
